Reason for issue 7. Updated as all current Filesets are now available via the Internet.
For some years VME filesets have been available for electronic retrieval via the SAM (Support And Maintenance) facility, using Full XBM dial up, X25 and ISDN connections. The filesets include microcode upgrades. Support for Full XBM dial up and X25 links has ceased in line with Fujitsu Services Marketing Bulletin MB/02/022 . SAM links will still be available via ISDN and VPN links.
All the current Trimetra, OpenVME and VME/X Filesets, Terminal Emulation Software and VCON updates, are now available for download via the Internet. As announced in ION/L26 Filesets are now retrievable via the Internet and no longer retrievable via SAM. For clients without Internet access, the mechanism to supply filesets on Compact Disc remains in place.
The Internet download facility is available to clients who have a valid Support Contract with Fujitsu Services and who have registered to use the download facility.
For OpenVME Product Sets the installation process uses the VME Control Desk (VCON); VCON must have been set up on the OpenVME system and the VCON client on a suitable Windows PC. Please note VCON is only available on currently supported versions of OpenVME.
The downloaded product file must be expanded and the files extracted on to the hard drive on the PC that is running the VCON client software, or expanded and extracted into a suitable directory of a networked drive that is accessible to that VCON PC. More detailed instructions are available once you have logged in to the download pages.
