Recommended Repair Package Envelope Naming Standards. Clients are advised that Fujitsu Services has now adopted a new standard for naming repair envelopes which enable a relationship to be deduced between the envelope and the Recommended Repair Level to which it applies. The standard will be progressively taken up by all VME software products supported by the Recommended Repair Package (RRP). The naming standard is as follows :- aa/K/vvvr.x where -
Thus "OV/K/0051.5" identifies envelope 5 of RRL1 of OVME version 5. This envelope identifier is referenced in page one of the report produced by AUDIT_REPAIRS. Please note that with regards to OVME, VME and SAM envelopes, even though it is intended that the 'r' identifier should reflect the recommended repair level, it is not always possible. For example :- If the issue number of the envelope reaches its limit of 32 (1-9 & A-Y excluding O & I) we would cause regression by reverting to issue 1, therefore we have no alternative but to increase the 'r' identifier. For confirmation of the 'r' identifier and its relation to the RRL, please refer to the 1st page of the corrective action 1 (the text) for the relevant repair. All new products joining the RRP system will conform immediately. Envelope names for Superstructure Products will conform to the above standards up to the issue number. That is, the issue number will increment by one with every new RRL or intermediate envelope and will not decrease to version 1 at the next RRL release. See IONS65 "VME Superstructure Products" for further information. The following "aa" codes are currently committed :-
This list will be expanded as new products join the RRP system. Clients should note, however, that when retrieving envelopes, they should continue to use the MSET names documented as per "OpenVME:System Management Manual" (52397) "Modifying System Software", which is available on OptICL. For example, OVME5 will have an MSET name of OVME05ENVELOPE.
