Submitting electronic evidence via TST - please do.

Total Systems Teleservice (TST) has for some time enabled users of VME systems to submit Product Report Forms to Fujitsu Services in electronic form. One of its benefits is the ability to submit evidence files electronically. Unfortunately in the past the benefits tended to be negated by slow, and sometimes unreliable dial up links. This prevented some users considering the use of TST.

Diagnostic links on VME systems (SAM links) now use ISDN or DSL technology, and hence are both considerably faster and more reliable than previous mechanisms. The result is that the full benefits of TST can now be enjoyed.

It is therefore strongly recommended that TST is enabled and initialized on all VME systems that have service contracts with Fujitsu Services.

TST also has advantages over VME evidence submitted via email. For example, passing binary VME dump files to a PC for emailing to Fujitsu Services can result in corrupt evidence if incorrect code translation is used, resulting in delays to problem resolution.

If TST is not initialized on your system then please see ION L76 for advice on how to approach this. If you still have problems initializing TST then please raise an Advice & Guidance call as described in ION P51
