Title NOVA and miniNOVA OpenVME 5 Upgrade.
Priority A
Date 2004/04/14

NOVA and miniNOVA OpenVME 5 Upgrade.

To ensure the continued smooth running of a NOVA or miniNOVA system following an upgrade from OpenVME 4 (or 4.2) to OpenVME 5 it is necessary to (re-)install the NOVA (or miniNOVA) Enabling Package so that :

1. UNDADD Version 1301 (or later) is installed to provide the Unit Descriptions needed for (mini)NOVA systems.

2. The REP096 (NOVA Release 1/2) or REP107 (NOVA Release 3 and miniNOVA) product is re-installed so as to update the file SAM.ICLSOURCE.ICL9NSAMPRODUCTFILE (installed with the RPSAM product in the OpenVME 5 upgrade) to correctly identify the SAM product versions installed from the enabling package.

To force re-installation of REP096 or REP107 delete the relevant product from the SAM Loadset before package (re-)installation or set the 'Force Update' option in VCON.

The required products are found in:
NOVA Release 1/2 Enabling Package 36 (or later)
NOVA Release 3 Enabling Package 13 (or later)
miniNOVA Enabling Package 15 (or later)

The problem is documented in Support Knowledge Entries (SKEs) 98776 and 98777.
